Whilst trying to develop my Raspberry Pi enclosure design, I began exploring the possibility of developing the design with a hexagonal profile.
This would be a more interesting shape. allowing for more emotive design features, aswell as being synonymous with bees/honeycomb that Manchester is also associated with.
Other advantages might include the cap being able to self hook onto the base component without the need for slots/rails, aswell as having extra sides/faces to provide more space for extra features (e.g. vents, connections for attachments). On the other hand, amongst other issues, this shape would have less surface area contacting a surface and would therefore need feet for extra stability.
This is a potential direction but more exploration is needed to determine whether or not it would be a better option than a simple rectangular shape.
